Who is the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) of tennis? The debate amongst the fans won’t stop because, for most of the fans, the GOAT is their favorite player. The Big-3 has ruled the tennis world like no players before. And even though Novak Djokovic has record 23 Grand Slam titles, he won’t be the greatest player in the eyes of the fierce supporters of Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal.
Federer’s fans argue that Djokovic kept winning more Grand Slam trophies due to the fact that he did not face the Swiss Maestro in his prime. And when it comes to Nadal, he is unquestionably the GOAT of Roland Garros, having lifted the trophy a whopping 14 times.
But Nadal has won just two Wimbledon titles (in 2008 and 2010) as compared to the Serbian legend who has bagged seven of those elusive trophies. Nole is also on the verge of tieing the tally with Federer who has record eight titles.
And as Djokovic is gearing up for his fifth back-to-back Wimbledon final, fans on Twitter again started the debate about the opponents of Nadal and Djokovic at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Djokovic will be fighting for his record-extending 24 Grand Slam trophies against Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz at Wimbledon’s summit clash on Sunday (July 16) on Centre Court.

As expected, Novak Djokovic‘s critics downplayed the Serb by pointing out how Djokovic started winning matches when Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal were not at their best. And as a counter-argument, Djokovic’s supporters said the 36-year-old still won matches when Federer and Nadal were the strongest players on tours.
Djokovic’s fans, with stats, started proving that Nadal undoubtedly is formidable on the red dirt but that is not the case when he plays on a grass surface, and as a consequence of which they rubbished this debate as useless and stated the debate should have been between Djokovic and Federer who has eight Wimbledon titles. Then some named Nadal’s Wimbledon rivals to mock the Spanish legend and his fans.

Nevertheless, the debate, as already mentioned, it’s tough to choose who is the greatest of all time in tennis. And if the seven-time Wimbledon champion, Djokovic wins the final in 2023, his and Federer’s fans will keep fighting over who is the greatest on grass.
