Looking forward to a return to Melbourne to play in the first Grand Slam of next year, former World No.1 Novak Djokovic has received a fresh backing from Australian immigration lawyer Kon-ming Tsai, who said  it would be “in Australia’s best interests” to let the Serb back.

Djokovic was deported from Australia early in 2022 after he landed claiming that he had a medical exemption to play in the Australian Open despite not being vaccinated.

“There is no risk factor here with allowing him back in. He’s not going to create a problem for the community. He is one of the world’s best tennis players and will be able to pull in a lot of foreign visitors,” the lawyer recently told AP reporters.

Fans demand apology after Pfizer representative admits vaccine wasn’t tested for preventing transmission

A recent video of Pfizer representative Janine Small apologizing to customers of her company’s vaccine, admitting that their dose was never tested for anti-transmission and the fact that a vaccine could help contain the spread of the virus was never tested or proven, had drawn the ire of Novak Djokovic fans.

Several fans on micro-blogging site Twitter said this essentially means that the Serb’s ban at the Australian Open is illegal and should now be removed. Some Djokovic fans also demanded an apology from Australian authorities.

In other news related to the controversy, Australian Shadow Home Affairs Minister Karen Andrews recently said Djokovic should not be allowed to flout rules and compete in Melbourne next year just because he enjoys financial power or is unique for certain reasons.

Speaking to Virginia Trioli on the Mornings radio show, Andrews also said that there could be a possibility that Djokovic remains banned for three years considering he had to be deported for flouting similar vaccination rules in 2022 as well.

“It would be a slap in the face for those people in Australia who did the right thing… if all of a sudden, Novak Djokovic is allowed back into the country, simply because he is a high-ranking tennis player with many millions of dollars,” she said.
