During the tournament, Nole and his teammates had the distinct pleasure of celebrating the new year together after downing Team China in the Group E category. Subsequently, the Serb recently made a candid statement in Chinese for his fans, which prompted a warm reaction from the tennis world.

Djokovic and his Serbian teammates secured a hard-fought victory over China, 2-1 for their team. The 36-year-old played a vital role in overpowering Team China, registering a singles win over Zhizhen Zhang and later pairing up with Olga Danilovic to oust Zhizhen Zhang and Qinwen Zheng in a thriller doubles contest.
