Novak Djokovic, the 35-year-old Serbian professional is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time. With 22 Grand Slam titles to his name, Djokovic has his name etched among the all-time greats of the sport. Djokovic once again has cemented his position as one of the greatest players after winning the 2023 Australian Open title after defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
The Serb seems to have a habit of not backing down as he continues to show up and perform in the face of adversity. Djokovic sustained an injury early on in the tournament. He had a problem in his left hamstring and had it taped up for the rest of the tournament. After that, he had suffer the consequences of the controversy that ensued regarding his father and pro-Russian rallies.
After winning the Australian Open title, Djokovic reflected on the adversities he faced throughout the tournament. He said, “It was one of the most difficult tournaments of my career. Not playing last year, coming back this year… Only my team and my staff know what we’ve been through in recent weeks. This is perhaps the biggest win of my career.“

Many predicted that Stefanos Tsitsipas would have a chance against Novak Djokovic considering the form the Greek professional was in. But Djokovic proved everyone wrong by dominating Tsitsipas in the final of the 2023 Australian Open. The Serb made quick work of Tsitsipas by defeating him in straight sets and won the 22nd Grand Slam title of his career.
