Sometime ago, 22-times Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal had claimed that Novak Djokovic would have been more frustrated if the Serb could not caught his Grand Slam tally. He had earlier talked about the mindset Djokovic and how different it is from his while talking about the Grand Slam count. Djokovic’s response, however, to the former World No.1 has got fans praising him for his classy reply.
“I have no intention of speaking in a negative light about him or Roger Federer – my respect towards them supersedes some negative opinions I might have,“ the US Open champion stated. “Again, that’s Rafa’s opinion and I, of course, don’t agree,” he said to Sportal, in addition talking about Nadal’s recent remarks about the 36-year-old.
Novak Djokovic had earlier talked about how Nadal helped him to become a better player. “Rafa is a great champion and I respect and appreciate him as such – as a great champion, my biggest rival and as a player who contributed to shaping my game and to results I’ve accomplished,” the Serbian had stated a while back.
