Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic is often booed by the crowd during his matches but that does not stop the 24-time Grand Slam winner from showering love on his fans. The Serbian always ensures he reciprocates the love he receives from even one person. Sometimes, Djokovic also goes out of his way to make his fans feel special. The same was seen after the Serbian’s title win in Paris.
As Novak Djokovic beat Grigor Dimitrov in the Paris Masters final to clinch his seventh title in Paris, his fans lined up to get his autograph and a selfie with the legend. Djokovic obliged to everyone’s request. The Serbian even touched hands with his fans. However, this created a ruckus as a lot of them tried to touch Djokovic at once.
The pushing and shoving put a girl at risk of getting seriously hurt. French publication We Love Tennis’ photographer captured the moment and revealed how the girl was saved by a vigilante staff member before Djokovic personally comforted the little kid.
Our photographer experienced a rather painful moment and she was logically very afraid for this little girl trapped and pushed by fans who wanted to see or touch Djokovic. Fortunately, a very vigilant firefighter was able to react very quickly by coming to rescue the little girl who had to be comforted by the world number 1 in person.We Love Tennis reported.
It is worth mentioning that Rafael Nadal had also done a similar thing during the 2019 US Open when the Spanish ace had pulled out a little boy from the crowd as he suffocated to breathe due to people shoving and pushing.
Novak Djokovic gifts his signed shoe to a girl
While Novak Djokovic comforted this little girl who was crying after getting trapped, the Serbian also gifted his signed shoe to another little girl. As Djokovic was meeting his fans on the sidelines of his victory in the Paris Masters final, he came across a little girl who was waiting to take his autograph.
The 36-year-old who himself is a father to a little girl took his moment to acknowledge the girl coming to watch him play. Djokovic also complimented the girl on her water bottle before gifting her a signed shoe.
Notably, Novak Djokovic was all class after his win over Grigor Dimitrov. Not only did Djokovic take care of his fans but he also looked after his opponent who was crying inconsolably after the loss. Djokovic halted his interview to console Dimitrov and also showered praise on the Bulgarian.
I’m sorry about the outcome today Grigor. It’s never easy to lose in a final. I want to encourage you to stay tough and keep going because you’ve been playing some of your greatest tennis this week and in the last few months
The Serbian also remembered how the two players go a long way back while also joking about them being the veterans on the tour now.
