Novak Djokovic was evidently exhilarated after beating Carlos Alcaraz in the Cincinnati Open final after a three-hour 48-minute match that saw the best of the top two ranked players in the world. The excited Serb ripped off his t-shirt and let out a monstrous scream after his monumental win, which explains how much this victory meant to him.
Ever since Alcaraz beat Djokovic in the Wimbledon 2023 final, the power dynamics have tilted in the youngster’s favor. The common opinion was that the 20-year-old had finally replaced the 23-time Grand Slam champion. However, by winning the Cincinnati Open in this epic fashion, Novak has proved his haters wrong and shown the world that he is far from finished.
About the match, Novak won it 5-7, 7-6(7), 7-6(4) as he rallied from a set and a breakdown. Alcaraz had won the first set, and from the very first set itself, the two players had hinted that it was going to be a long and intense match, and they did not let the fans down.

The Cincinnati Open final between the two, for example, was one of the best matches played in a really long time. Even the 23-time Grand Slam winner has claimed that it was one of the toughest matches of his career.
“Definitely 1 of the toughest matches I’ve played in my life, regardless what tournament, category, level, or what player. It’s unbelievable,” the Serb said after the match.
