The Serbian has returned to the US Open after a gap as there were a lot of issues and controversies surrounding Novak’s intentions of not taking the vaccine. Returning to the Centre Court, he is the favorite to win the title at the Flushing Meadows for the 4th time in his career. He brutally defeated Taylor Fritz in easy straight sets displaying an electric performance to reach the round of 4 of a Major for the 47th time in his career.

The Serbian won in a dominating fashion against Taylor Fritz. The American has now lost 8 times to Djokovic in his career. After the match, Djokovic said, “It’s expected that people are backing the home player, there’s nothing wrong with that. I like the atmosphere here, I’m fine with that and I thrive on that energy.”

He is going to face Ben Shelton, another American who defeated Frances Tiafoe in the quarter-finals to reach his maiden semi-final of a major. He will have a tough time out there on the court facing someone who is playing his 47th semi-final of a Major of his career. It will be interesting to see Ben Shelton perform in a nothing-to-lose match against the Serb.
