Novak Djokovic claimed the 2023 French Open title, as he defeated Casper Ruud in straight sets in the finals on Sunday. The Serbian shattered plenty of records, becoming the first man to reach 23 Grand Slam titles. He also reclaimed the world number one ranking spot after his victory, which he lost to Carlos Alcaraz only a couple of weeks ago.

Novak Djokovic is halfway through the Calendar Slam, having already won the 2023 Australian Open in January. The third seed was dominant throughout his campaign in Paris, as he was only tested by Karen Khachanov and Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Novak Djokovic won his third French Open title on Sunday, as he became only the first male tennis player to win all four Grand Slam titles on at least three occasions. He now leads the ‘GOAT’ race, as Novak Djokovic sits one Grand Slam title ahead of Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard is currently recovering from a surgery and is expected to return only next season.

Novak Djokovic started off slowly in the finals against Casper Ruud, being broken early in the first set. It seemed that the Norwegian would run away with the first set, however, Novak Djokovic forced the set into a tiebreaker. He outplayed the fourth seed in the tiebreaker, and from there on, there was no way back for Casper Ruud.
