Novak Djokovic shows his class in wishing success for Grigor Dimitrov after defeating the Bulgarian to win the 2023 Paris Masters
Novak Djokovic showered heaps of praise on Grigor Dimitrov after defeating him in the finals of the Paris Masters.

The 24-time Grand Slam title champion created history once again by extending his title count by winning the Paris Masters for the 7th time in his career after defeating Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the finals. Novak Djokovic, with this win, also became the first person to win a record-breaking 40 ATP Masters 1000 title.
The 2023 US Open champion was all praise for Grigor Dimitrov. Novak Djokovic congratulated Grigor on a good game and wished him good fortunes in the coming stages of his career. In the on-court interview after the match, the Serbian stated:
I really hope he will continue to play at a high level. He’s been playing some of his best tennis this week & I wish him all the best. I hope he can win big events.
Novak Djokovic looked invincible in the finals clash as he defeated the Bulgarian in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, to clinch his 7th Paris Masters title. The seven-time Wimbledon champion is now in a stronger position to finish the year as the No. 1 player in the world. Talking about how the match was a close fight, the Serbian added:
Match was closer than scoreline indicates.
Furthermore, the tennis professional mentioned how he was very familiar with the feeling of losing in a final. Nole added:
I’ve been in these situations before many times. Losing finals. I’ve been blessed to of course win more finals than I’ve lost.
Grigor Dimitrov himself has had a good season on Tour this year. He had caused a major upset, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets at the Shanghai Open.

The 24-time Grand Slam title champion sportingly apologized to Grigor Dimitrov over the outcome of the match and even encouraged him to stay strong and keep up the consistency. That’s not all; he also congratulated his team and family on a good season of tennis for the Bulgarian. Novak Djokovic said:
Grigor, sorry about the outcome today. It’s never easy to lose in a final. I want to encourage you to stay tough & keep going."
Continuing further, he added:
It’s always a pleasure to share the court with you. We go back a long time. We’re kind of veterans of the tour right now. Next Gen or whatever they call it. 30+ Gen.
Grigor Dimitrov, who is famously known for his sportsmanship spirit, replied to Novak Djokovic and even opened up about how it was an honor for him to share the court with the Serbian legend.
