Novak Djokovic shuts down withdrawal rumors but concerns remain
Novak Djokovic is going nowhere, but on to the court for practice.
Novak Djokovic
The former world No. 1, Novak Djokovic, shut down all the speculation ahead of his injury concerns and was seen in practice. The Serbian star was supposed to be in practice at 7 p.m. local time; however, he canceled it. Rumors have been raised across social media that Novak is going to withdraw from the tournament.
Novak had previously skipped a couple of practice sessions before the commencement of the Australian Open. This year, there have been a large number of players who have withdrawn. These include Venus Williams, Carlos Alcaraz, Nick Kyrgios, etc. Amidst all these speculations, fans were shocked to hear that Serbian professional Novak is likely to pull out.
But the nine-time AO champion had other plans. He refused to give up his fight, as he was seen in practice with his left leg taped. He is indeed having an issue with his hamstring, however, he is confident that he will recover soon. Fans were relieved to know that their favorite player was back in action. He is one of the favorites to win the title again, as he comes to Melbourne Park after winning the Adelaide International earlier this year.

Novak Djokovic scares his fans with injury concerns
Earlier today, fans had the breaking news of the withdrawal of their homeboy, Nick Kyrgios. Even before they could digest this news, speculations had arisen about an injury of Novak Djokovic. Fans and experts were not prepared to miss two-star players who had just played a charity match at Melbourne Park the week before.
However, Novak Djokovic denied all the rumors by showing up in practice ahead of his first round. Nick was heartbroken to have missed the major due to his knee injury, but Novak was still seen in practice despite his hamstring niggle. After the practice, he thanked his fans for coming and stated that everything is “ok.”
The Serbian star is all prepared for his first round against the Spaniard, Roberto Carballes Baena. Fans are excited to see Novak again after two years and expect him to lift the trophy in Melbourne Park.
