After his break from tennis, the Serb will try to ensure he clinches some titles on the clay courts as he has not produced any impressive performances on the hard courts earlier. He participated in two tournaments which didn’t end up in his favor.

The 36-year-old was eyeing his historic 25th Grand Slam title in the Australian Open but got eliminated by Italian sensation Jannik Sinner in the semifinals. Djokovic then lost to unseeded Luca Nardi in the third round of the Indian Wells.

Before the Australian Open, the Serb played in the United Cup for Serbia, but again it ended in disappointment as he lost to Australia’s Alex de Minaur.

Andy Roddick feels Novak Djokovic will hire Boris Becker again after split with Goran Ivanisevic

On Wednesday (March 28), Novak Djokovic announced that he has parted ways with coach Goran Ivanisevic through an Instagram post. World No. 1 wrote that though their friendship was always “rock solid“, their on-court chemistry had its “ups and downs“.

As the tennis fraternity is racking their brains over who Djokovic will hire as his coach, former American tennis star Andy Roddick thinks he won’t be surprised if Djokovic joins hands with Boris Becker.

Seems like he always kind of ends back up with [Marian Vajda] when something like this happens. That's happened a couple of times.
Roddick told Tennis Channel

Notably, the Serb has rehired Marian Vajda a couple of times after splits with other coaches. Becker, meanwhile, has coached the Serb to six Grand Slam titles.

This is pure speculation. I know nothing, but it wouldn't shock me to see Becker in the mix of that conversation.
Roddick added

Djokovic has won 12 out of the 24 Grand Slam titles under Ivanisevic’s coaching. The 36-year-old hired the 2001 Wimbledon champion back in 2018.

Djokovic’s focus has now shifted to the clay season, particularly the French Open where he will try to clinch his fourth trophy. Last year, he won his third title by beating Casper Ruud in the final in straight sets.
