Novak Djokovic steals the limelight at Red Star Belgrade’s Champions League match

Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic is enjoying his time off the court as the 36-year-old was spotted in the stands during a UEFA Champions League match between Crvena Zvezda (also known as Red Star Belgrade) and Young Boys at the Rajko Mitic Stadium. Djokovic who has expressed his support for the Serbian football club over the years was cheering for his team against their Swiss opponent.
Although the match ended in a 2-2 draw, the Serbian stole the limelight with his presence at the stadium. The pictures of Djokovic entering the stadium and then in the stands have been going viral on social media. He was accompanied by Carlos Gomez-Herrera.
Novak Djokovic is an ardent football fan and has attended Red Belgrade’s matches on multiple occasions in the past as well. While Djokovic has been seen supporting Italian club AC Milan in the past, the Serbian never let go of the opportunity to support his home club as and when it comes.

Novak Djokovic won his 24th Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open in the first week of September. He then represented his country in the Davis Cup Finals and then announced that he would be missing the Asian Swing. Post that announcement, the Serbian is enjoying his time off the court by indulging in other sports.
While he was spotted cheering for the Red Belgrade, Djokovic also featured in the all-star exhibition match of the Ryder Cup where he went to support Team Europe against Team USA. The 36-year-old was in Belgrade to celebrate Serbia’s national basketball team’s silver-medal finish at the recently concluded FIBA World Cup.
The Serbian had admitted that he likes to mingle with athletes from other sports as it helps him understand their struggles and sacrifices. Djokovic has many friends outside of tennis including NFL star Tom Brady, former NBA great Kobe Bryant, and footballing icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
