Novak Djokovic is arguably the greatest player to grace tennis, having won a record 23 Grand Slam titles. Despite tasting so much success over the past decade, the Serbian tennis player never fails to surprise fans by exhibiting his lofty standards. This time instead of entertaining viewers through his awe-inspiring returns of serve, Djokovic sent his fans into a frenzy by making a startling revelation about his locker room routine after a historic 5-set win over Rafael Nadal in the 2012 Australian Open final.
In his 2013 autobiography, Serve to Win, Djokovic talked about how he rose to the number one spot in tennis by changing what he ate. Further, detailing the changes in his dietary regime, Djokovic said, “How much discipline? In January 2012, I beat Nadal in the finals of the Australian Open. … After I won, I sat in the locker room in Melbourne. I wanted one thing: to taste chocolate. I hadn’t tasted it since the summer of 2010. … That was all I would allow myself. That is what it has taken to get to number one.”
The 23-time Grand Slam winner also talked about how eliminating gluten from his diet made him feel instantly lighter and quicker. Djokovic got instant results as the changes in his diet helped him win numerous titles in the 2011 season.
The Serbian legend hopes his dietary plans would help propel him to a record-setting 24-Grand Slams win in the US Open later this month.

Some users hailed Djokovic’s fitness coach Gebhard Gritsch for helping him maintain a strict fitness regime, while some remarked on what all it takes to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
Here are some of the reactions from Twitter:
While some users saw the lighter side to it, others were skeptical about his dietary controls. One of the users said:
Djokovic’s autobiography reminds tennis fans of how tough professional athletes are on their bodies. To reach the top of their game, athletes can’t afford minor slip-ups in their fitness and training regimes.
