Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic opines about the Centre Court of Wimbledon as the drama continues around the surface. According to him, the courts should not be opened for practice sessions before the tournament, so that could make the situation a bit better. He does not like making the court rough by allowing them to be played on before the actual rounds.
Djokovic mentioned in his press conference, “Even though it was nice for us to get a chance in the last couple of years to practice on the Centre Court before the tournament starts, I have to say I’m not a fan of that. I would rather have no practice at all on the Centre Court before the tournament starts. I think that would help the court.”
The 23-time Grand Slam winner has moved to the quarter-finals of the championships defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 16. In a suspended match in between, the Serbian took care of Hurkacz in four sets: 7-6(8-6), 7-6(8-6), 5-7, 6-4.
Novak Djokovic will face Andrey Rublev in the quarters

The Serbian will need to get past Andrey Rublev, the Russian World No.7 to get into yet another semi-final of the Wimbledon championships. Rublev got past Alexander Bublik in a five-set thriller to book the semi-final clash with the Serbian World No.2. The final score against Bublik was 7-5, 6-3, 6-7(6), 6-7(5), 6-4.
Djokovic will be definitely playing as the favorite against the Russian who is playing his first-ever quarter-final in the SW19. With this last eight appearance, Rublev has now reached the quarter-finals of all four Grand Slam tournaments.
The winner of this battle will probably face Jannik Sinner in the semi-finals according to the projected draw. Djokovic’s main threat, at least on paper, the World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz has also moved to the quarter-finals on the other side of the draw where he will face the Danish youngster Holger Rune.
