While Fritz faced an overwhelming setback in the first set, the American rebounded and showed a resurgence in the ensuing sets. Notably, Fritz established a break advantage, leading 4-2 in the second set. However, Djokovic, famed for his determination, stepped up his game, fighting back with three consecutive tied games to take a 5-4 lead.
A significant occurrence drew the attention of spectators as Djokovic approached the match point. A person from the stands threw an object onto the court, which obviously irritated Djokovic. As a result, he won the next point and turned toward the spectators, showing his rage with an explosion.

Djokovic and Rublev have played four times on the tennis court, with the former having a dominant 4-1 advantage in their head-to-head record. Notably, Rublev’s lone victory over the 36-year-old Serbian came at a critical juncture – the final of Djokovic’s home event, the Serbian Open, in 2022.
