Former Spanish tennis legend Alex Corretja has praised Novak Djokovic highly in his most recent interview with Eurosport. He praised the Serb’s awareness of the calendar, which allows him to get the most out of the breaks. He then went on to claim that Djokovic is the biggest title favorite for the Paris Masters and ATP Finals

“I think he should be probably one of the biggest contenders or the biggest contender to win the two finals in Turin and in Bercy,” said Alex Corretja in his interview about the two upcoming important events. (H/T: Eurosport)

Djokovic had taken a small break after winning the 2023 US Open. The Serb usually does this after Grand Slam events to recover from the toll of playing back-to-back tournaments. Thus, after winning the 2023 US Open, he decided to drop down from the China Open and the Shanghai Masters. The Serb will now be back in action at the 2023 Paris Masters, which starts on 28th October.

Following the Paris Masters, he will also take part in the Nitto ATP Finals, which is the most significant event in men’s tennis after the four Grand Slam events. Djokovic has already won three Majors this season. It is only obvious that he will be the favorite to win the ATP Finals and the Paris Masters this year.

Alex Corretja calls Novak Djokovic unbeatable

The Spaniard then claimed that Novak Djokovic has been winning so much this season that he has almost started to feel unbeatable. Djokovic lost in the final of only one Grand Slam this season – in the 2023 Wimbledon final against Carlos Alcaraz. This goes on to show what a brilliant season the Serb has been having. Now that he has taken a proper break, he will most likely be really unbeatable.

“He’s been playing so well through the whole season that he’s got so much confidence that whenever he steps on the court, I think he feels that if he’s ready, he’s going to be almost unbeatable,” Corretja said. The Serb might take some time to get in touch as he will be returning to the court after a month or so. However, once he is able to do that, it is over for the others, given the fact is his immediate rival Carlos Alcaraz is also going through a rough patch.
