Novak Djokovic to lead the field at the ATP Finals 2023 as Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune are set to make their main-draw debuts at the event

Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune claimed two new spots in the singles after the 2023 Nitto ATP Finals on Friday. They are joined by Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev, Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, and Stefanos Tsitsipas in the elite field.
The Nitto ATP Finals are the year-end championship for the top eight singles players on the ATP Tour. It is one of the most prestigious tournaments in the sport. It is also always a highly competitive event that decides the year-end rankings.
This year’s Nitto ATP Finals will be held at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy, from November 12–19. Carlos Alcaraz and Holger Rune are both making their Nitto ATP Finals debuts, but they are no strangers to success.
The Spanish star is a former world No. 1 and a two-time Grand Slam title champion. The 20-year-old has won 12 ATP Tour titles in his career, including the US Open and Wimbledon.
The Dane is a rising star on the ATP Tour. He has reached as high as 4th in the world rankings. Rune has won four ATP Tour singles titles, including a Masters 1000 title at the 2022 Paris Masters.
With 20-year-olds Alcaraz and Rune both qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals, it will be the first time since 2000 that two 20-and-under players have competed in the tournament. In 2000, 19-year-old Lleyton Hewitt and 20-year-old Marat Safin both made their Nitto ATP Finals debut.
A look into the ATP Finals of 2023
The Nitto ATP Finals are going to be held at the indoor hard courts at the Pala Alpitour in Turin, Italy, from 12 to 19 November 2023.
The tournament features a round-robin format, with the top eight players/teams divided into two groups of four. Players in each group play each other once, and the top two players from each group advance to the semifinals. The semifinals and final are all best-of-three tie-break sets.
