Former World No.4 James Blake spoke about how Novak Djokovic is following in the footsteps of the NFL legend Tom Brady in terms of shutting their doubters and becoming the greatest of all time in their respective sports. Blake pointed out how Brady was becoming the option of the majority when he won his fifth Super Bowl tournament and then underlined it with a sixth title.
Blake spoke out that Djokovic winning the 24th Grand Slam title has put him in a similar situation to that of Tom Brady in the NFL. As in his words, “There will always be debates around the table, but it will be difficult, and much more difficult, for anyone to argue in any other direction that Novak is the greatest of all time, when he has 24 Grand Slams“
The American continued on how Brady overcame the doubters in his sport, “For me, it’s a bit like when Tom Brady won his fourth Super Bowl and there was still a debate between him and Joe Montana as the greatest player of all time, then Brady won his fifth, then his sixth, and the debate was over. That’s kind of the situation we find ourselves in with Novak right now.” (Credits: We Love Tennis, translated via Google)
Tom Brady was in for Novak Djokovic’s matches in the US Open
The LNFL legend Tom Brady has recently retired from his sport and has been involved in a lot of business areas. He is also keen on enjoying his personal life after a great career. In the recently concluded US Open, Tom Brady was spotted in many of the matches involving Novak Djokovic and the Spanish World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz‘s semi-final clash with the Russian World No.3 Daniil Medvedev.
The meeting of Brady with Novak Djokovic and his introduction of his son to the Serbian legend was one of the warmest moments of the sporting world. In that video shared by the US Open‘s official account on the social media platform X, Brady and Djokovic had a little chat together.
“How are you doing my man? Keep kicking ass like always,” said Brady to Djokovic. Furthermore, Brady introduced his sons Jack and Ben to Djokovic. His daughter, Vivian, was also seen standing next to Brady in the video. Tom Brady was also into an Electrical boat race named the E1 series where another tennis legend Rafael Nadal owns his own team. So in all senses, Broad is keeping his connection closer to the legends of Tennis as well.
