“I don’t feel like leaving tennis,” Novak Djokovic trashes retirement talks as he aces the “blessed” career prime

24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic quickly put down talks of his retirement as he establishes that as long as he is still able to compete for Majors, he will never think of retirement.
While the Serb is 36-years-old, he is still winning Grand Slam events in style. Although this means that he will not consider retirement for a while, one cannot be sure as to how the tables will turn.

While others of his generation have retired or have reached the end of their careers, Djokovic is still going strong. At an age where most players have already hung up their rackets, he is still winning Grand Slam events.
He also explained that when he is in a condition where he is not able to contend with the other players, that is when he would consider retirement. However, he also acknowledged that with the dynamics of the sport, anything could change at any moment.

Djokovic is currently ranked No.1 in the world, with the next person, Carlos Alcaraz, being more than 2000 points behind him. Therefore, it does not make sense for the Serb to even think about retirement. However, with him aging, his body and other factors may play a role in hastening up his retirement timeline.
Novak Djokovic claims his kids and family will play a role in his retirement
While the Serb has put down any rumors of retirement, he still understands that his kids and family will also play a part in his retirement.
Novak Djokovic has claimed to have downsized his season in hopes of spending more time with his family. However, he also acknowledged that his kids will also influence his retirement decision.
I mean, a lot of things can change. I'm not a teenager anymore. I'm a father and a husband. A lot of things happening in the private life off court that I enjoy, that require my attention, my presence, my energy. Yeah, still I'm really blessed to be where I am.
However, he also admitted that he was blessed to be playing at the level he was at. Nole is now poised to play against America’s Taylor Fritz on Wednesday in his Quarterfinal match.
