Novak Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, made a stand on his retirement status and confirmed that he will continue to play for years to come. After his 24th US Open title, fans await what is next for the Serbian legend. Goran Ivanisevic, Djokovic’s coach, shed light on the Serb’s future plans.
“That question you have to ask him when he comes very soon. I don’t think so. No, no, he’s planning to play Olympic Games in Los Angeles,” said Ivanisevic Speaking at a press conference when he was asked if Djokovic is satisfied with his career or not. The coach further added, “When is this, 2028? You know what’s going in his head. It’s like 24 hours something to achieve. So I don’t think so”.
Entering one’s late 30s, it becomes tough to maintain top form and compete against younger athletes, as seen with Rohan Bopanna, the oldest Grand Slam player at 43. Given that the Olympics are five years away, it’s hard to predict Novak’s future performance. Anything can happen in that time.

We chatted a lot about the winner’s mentality when I was struggling with an injury and trying to make my comeback to the top of the game,” said Novak when asked about his t-shirt.
Novak’s longevity is one of the most impressive aspects of his career. He has been at the top of his game for almost a decade and shows intent to play for more years.
