Serbian tennis ace Novak Djokovic has received a heap of praise from British tennis ace and his long-time rival Andy Murray. Although the two fought some hard battles on the court, there has been mutual respect between them. The Briton has always heaped praise on Djokovic and now, as the Serbian lifted his 24th Grand Slam title, Murray further praised the 36-year-old.

The Briton has lauded Djokovic for still competing at the highest level and on top of that winning titles at the age of 36. Murray also put Djokovic ahead of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal– the two players often hailed as the greatest. He said that although Federer and Nadal have had long careers and huge impact, none of the two could hold the same standard as the Serb and maintained this crazy consistency at such a phase in their careers.

“The motivation & energy to keep winning & keep performing at that level is brilliant. Of all of them, Roger, Rafa, they have all had long careers, but certainly none of them, I think, have played at the level that Novak is at in this phase of their careers in a consistent way,” said Murray at the press conference ahead of his second-round match at Zhuhai Championships.

No stopping Novak Djokovic!

Novak Djokovic is undoubtedly one of the greatest to have picked up the racket. His numbers speak for themselves. With 24 Grand Slam titles to his credit, Djokovic sits right at the top in men’s tennis and jointly with Margaret Court overall. There are chances he might end up with the most number of Grand Slam titles considering his hunger.

Djokovic has his fitness on his side, unlike Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, who struggled a lot with injuries in the later phase of their careers. While Federer had to hang up his racket as he was unable to cope with the intensity of professional tennis, Nadal is still struggling to make a comeback after being sidelined due to injury.

While none can take away the fact that these two greats- Nadal and Federer revolutionized the game in terms of consistency at winning Slams, Djokovic certainly stands apart in terms of fitness.

Despite being 36 years of age, the Serbian is able to topple players almost half his age. Currently, Djokovic looks unbeatable when he plays at his full potential. Only Carlos Alcaraz, who is touted to be the next big thing in the sport, is able to match Djokovic’s level. Otherwise, there is no stopping Novak Djokovic.
