Novak Djokovic, the renowned Serbian Pro has been the finest tennis star since the last decade. He has created a whole different playing field for others to compete in. While his talent on the court is unquestionable, his recent actions and statements regarding social causes have left fans and many other players criticizing him. Professional Tennis Player Association (PTPA) co-founder Vasek Pospisil was left enraged after such an incident.
Fans are criticizing Novak for apparently ignoring social causes which is entirely false. The Serbian used a unique platform to raise awareness and help people out. His friend Vasek backed Novak in a recent interview. “Novak doesn’t get enough credit & it pisses me off. He’s such a good guy. I mean, he’s so generous and I don’t know if it’s my place to say this but he helps juniors in Serbia, he’s financing, he’s helping, he really cares. He has an appreciation of the grind, how hard it is & how skewed everything is against the players. It comes from a genuine place. He’s trying to help these players in the sport,” said the co-founder of PTPA while speaking to Smashing Rackets.
PTPA had previously received a lot of hate from Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal fans as the Serb had broken away from the ATP council to create PTPA. The conflict between the two councils will always be running as fans have conflicts of interest.

With the recent rise of PTPA influencing different players’ lives, there have been many conflicts in tennis. Some of their leaders like Ons Jabeur and Novak Djokovic reveal the true intentions behind the association in a video. “We pay mostly everything” revealed Ons Jabeur in the video posted on the PTPA social media handles. Fans are cheering on the organization but others are questioning the involvement of less recognized players.
Novak Djokovic also spoke a few words revealing the intentions of PTPA and how they try to provide the necessities for the players. As tennis players need money to pay for their coaches, physio, and basic requirements, some players may not be able to afford that and this is when the PTPA tries to help out the players by funding them.
