Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz clashed in an epic battle on the courts of the Cincinnati Open in the final match. Their head-to-head was surely one for the books. Djokovic managed to beat his opponent in a very close match and clinch his 49th ATP Masters title.
Though the match ended with Alcaraz’s loss, several tennis fans have now pointed out that all was not fair during the game. Many took to the internet to accuse Alcaraz of strategic hindrance while the duo was out on the court.
“This is an example of a clear “hindrance” by Carlos Alcaraz during play due to the loud noise he makes while hitting the ball which gets strangely louder as the rally progresses or as he is about to hit a winner,” a user pointed out on Twitter with a video attachment of one of the top two seed’s rallies in the third set.”Of course he will never get called out for it,” they added further.

Social Media accuses Alcaraz of ‘strategic hindrance’ in Cincinnati finals against Novak Djokovic
Carlos Alcaraz clashed in a fiery match with the world-renowned player, Novak Djokovic on Sunday. The Serb defeated the World No. 1 with a score of 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 over the course of 3 sets. However, some parts of the match made fans wonder if the game played on the ground was really fair.
A user of the social media app, X (formerly known as Twitter) pointed out how Alcaraz’s screams while playing a rally seemed to get louder and louder. Many netizens agreed with this and accused Carlos of hindering the match strategically. Others, however, pointed out that it was not a big deal as they could hear Djokovic shouting as well. All in all, the reactions were a mixed bag. Check out some of them below.
Several users claimed that players screaming on court during their rallies was a very common occurrence. Some claimed that they could hear both of them shouting. Others pointed out that the tournaments need to remove mics from both of the players’ teams as a lot of noise was coming from both sides.
