Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena Djokovic, posted a hilarious story on her Instagram recently. The World No. 2’s wife posted a snippet of the Cincinnati Open final. She congratulated the Serb by poking fun at his age.

She wrote that there is always some kind of history being made because of this man. So much so that she has started feeling like an old lady in comparison to him. Jelena further added that the 36-year-old keeps trying to pass himself off as a youngster, and these victorious moments help him establish that. “Always some kind of history happening around this man…I’m feeling like an old lady,” she wrote. Jelena later, for unknowable reasons, deleted the story.

The tennis star Novak Djokovic won against the 20-year-old player Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling match that lasted about three hours and 49 minutes. Djokovic managed to up his game in the deciding third set. The match was exhilarating, as Djokovic managed to save his one championship point against Alcaraz.

He avenged his Wimbledon loss, and now their rivalry has come to a head-to-head score of 2-2. Many people had doubts regarding the second-seeded player’s ability to sustain. Some fans were even discussing his retirement. Djokovic proved to all of them that his age would not deter him from playing at his best. He was once quoted saying, “36 is the new 26,” at Wimbledon.

Just like Djokovic, his wife is also of Serbian descent. She studied business administration at Bocconi University in Milan. She then went on to study for her Masters in luxury goods and services at the International University of Monaco.

Jelena and Novak went to the same high school. They started dating in 2005. After nine years of dating, they decided to get married in June 2014. Shortly after, they were blessed with their son, Stefan, in October 2014. Three years later, their daughter Tara was born.

Jelena has been a constant presence in Djokovic’s life. She has supported him since the beginning of his career. She is often seen cheering for him during matches. Apart from taking care of their children, she also runs the Novak Djokovic Foundation. The foundation focuses on helping Serbian children get better access to education. She also runs her own blog and is the director of ‘Original’ magazine.
