With the situation regarding Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic’s vaccine situation, the Serb as things stand will not be allowed to participate in the US Open this year which is right around the corner, many fans have protested against this as they want Djokovic to be present at the Flushing Meadows this time around as well.
Andy Roddick, the 39-year-old former American professional took to Twitter to share his excitement over his exhibition match ahead of the US Open, to which a fan replied by spreading pro-Djokovic propaganda. Roddick cleared the situation by replying, “I’ll always care about the US Open. I also think the tourney would be better w Novak in it. Realistically, a tennis tournament/player is never going to affect government policy.”
31-year-old American professional, Tennys Sandgren took notice of the tweet by Roddick and replied, “In the back half of 2020 and most of 2021 governments made all sorts of special allowances for tournaments to take place. Of course, the policy was altered to make this happen.”
