Andy Roddick was recently asked by a fan about his views on the current US president and the coming elections. The American pointed out the flaws in both candidates. He also suggested a new policy for the qualification of the president. Speaking about Joe Biden, the former World No. 1 said that the president has a stutter and gets easily tired.

Biden is the oldest president in American history, and if re-elected in 2024, he will be 86 when he steps down. And, no doubt, the president’s advanced age leaves Biden with “physical decline and time’s dulling of mental faculties that no pill or exercise regime can resist”. For context, there have been numerous instances where the president has forgotten and stuttered his way through a speech. For example, while talking about Vladimir Putin, he mistakenly called Ukraine “Iraq”.

Roddick further went on to call opposition candidate Donald Trump a toxic narcissist who only serves himself and is vengeful.

Donald Trump is infamous for his many scandals. He has become the first former US President in history to face federal criminal indictment on a variety of espionage-related accusations. If convicted of all seven counts presented by the US Justice Department against him, ranging from illegally retaining sensitive papers after leaving the White House to making false statements and conspiring to obstruct justice, the 77-year-old former President faces up to 100 years in jail.

In a tweet, Roddick suggested there should be an age limit for candidates to run for the presidency. He feels that a president shouldn’t be able to run if he is over a certain age. Someone then chimed in to say that the voters are the judge of age and that someone’s age does not demonstrate their ability. The former US Open champion argued that the presidency does have a minimum age so what’s wrong in having a maximum one?

It is also important to note that both the men contesting for elections are old. Biden is 80 and Trump is 77 years old. Therefore, to sum it up according to Roddick it is a duel between these two older men of nearly the same age. On one hand is worn and flawed and on the other hand a disordered and malignant one.
