“Only 21 and doing so much” Ukrainian football legend Andriy Shevchenko at a loss for words over Iga Swiatek’s fund-raising campaigns

Iga Swiatek, the 21-year-old Polish professional is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world currently in the women’s circuit, ranked world number 1 Swiatek is popular for her performances on the court and her generous principles off the court. She won countless hearts with her foundation ‘Iga Swiatek and Friends for Ukraine’ which helps in raising funds for the war-affected citizens of Ukraine.
The charity event was held in Krakow, Poland, and was a huge success. The charity match that Swiatek participated in raised over 500,000 Euros and has done wonders in helping the war-affected citizens of Ukraine. Ukrainian former footballer Andriy Shevchenko recently shared a video where he thanked Iga Switake and Polish footballer Robert Lewandowski for their generous contributions.

Ukrainian former footballer and one of the best strikers of his time, Andriy Shevchenko was seen hailing Iga Swiatek for her contributions to making the situation better for Ukraine which is gravely affected by the Russian invasion. Shevchenko also thanked fellow footballer Robert Lewandowski for the same cause.
In a video posted by Laureus Sport on the matter, Shevchenko said, “I want to thank you, Polish people, for being very kind to my country to host us here to provide for all our needs, thank you so much for your support. Also, I want to thank Iga Swiatek and Robert Lewandowski for taking a big part in the achievement to help my country to raise funds and be supportive of the war in Ukraine.”
Shevchenko even expressed her gratitude towards Swiatek as she is inclined towards a great cause at such a young age, “She is so young – only 21 – and she is already doing so much,” Shevchenko added further.
After hosting a successful charity event that raised over half a million Euros, Swiatek said, “I know that social memory is short, so we wanted to remind the world that the war in Ukraine is not over. I think that we have completed the task of helping with tennis, and we have shown the great social power of sport.”
