The 2023 women’s tennis season has finally concluded, with the top stars finally finding some rest after the commencement of the recently played WTA Finals.
Ons Jabeur, who has had a season of many mixed emotions, thanked the fans through a montage of clips of different memories across the year. From the different trophies she lifted to the different highs and lows she encountered to spending time with fans whenever she got the chance.
She posted the video on Twitter along with the caption:
Another season comes to end with its amount of smiles, sweat and tears. Massive thanks to #TeamOJ and here’s to another season full of joy and great and to, hopefully, a more peaceful world.

It completely summed up the sweet character the Tunisian has who never fails to give it back to her supporters sharing her moments with them whenever possible.
But the thing that caught the main attention was her last line in her quote, where she talked about looking forward to an even better and more peaceful world. This was in context to the ongoing Israel-Palestine war, which has raised global concerns with several innocent lives being taken away.
Jabeur was among one of the very few tennis stars to stand in support of Palestine due to which she also faced several criticism on social media for it.
Israel launched a complaint against Ons Jabeur to ITF
After Hamas, a terrorist wing, launched an attack on Israeli militants as a counterattack on Palestine, Ons Jabeur raised her voice in favor of Palestine, saying that the attacks had been launched on each other constantly over the last few decades and that both countries are guilty. For this, she received huge hate on social media, and Israeli officials even complained against her to the ITF.

Just after the attack, she peened down the message in support of Palestine saying:
What Palestinians have been going through during the last 75 years is indescribable. What innocent civilians are going through is indescribable; no matter what their religion is, or what their origin is. I cannot stand with violence but I also cannot stand with people having their lands taken.
Jabeur concluded her message by begging for peace and requesting both parties to stop their vulgar and hooligan ways of war. She finished off her message by writing:
And peace is all we care about. Peace is what everyone needs and deserves. Stop the violence and #FreePalestine.
She expressed her concerns for the innocent people who are falling victim because of this unwanted war and just wants the violence to stop at once.
