The longstanding conflict between Israel and Palestine took the form of a full-blown war after Hamas launched attacks on Israeli citizens, killing hundreds and taking several hostages.
With both sides having failed to reach a consensus since the situation escalated, the number of civilian casualties has skyrocketed to new highs. While most celebrities choose to refrain from making comments, Tunisian ace Ons Jabeur has always used her platform to express her views.
Back in October, tennis professional Ons Jabeur took to the social media platform Instagram to condemn the violence the war has instigated. She also asked people not to jump to conclusions without knowing the history.

The tennis professional expressed her support for Palestine and stood in solidarity with the civilians. Recently, however, following her second match at the ongoing WTA Finals in Cancun, the player broke down as she discussed the war in an on-court interview.

The player struggled to hold back tears as she talked about the difficult and heartbreaking situation the civilians are facing currently.
The situation in the world doesn’t make me happy… I feel like… I am sorry. It’s very tough seeing children & babies dying every day. It is not a political message, it is humanity.
Ons Jabeur said during an on-court interview.
Jabeur reiterated that she wants peace between the two parties.
Ons Jabeur was disappointed with the ITF for accepting complaints against her message calling for peace amid war
Tennis pro Ons Jabeur is upset with the International Tennis Federation (ITF) after the organization registered a complaint against her after she voiced her opinion on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war online.
They filed the complaint to the WTA and I’m aware of it, they told me about it. But I didn’t say anything wrong. I just shared my opinion and I stayed within the rules. I actually was surprised they complained about it. I don’t even know why. My message was really peaceful. The 29-year-old said as she talked about the ITF registering complaint with the WTA. “
