Ons Jabeur is one of the most lovable players on the tour. The Tunisian was involved in a fiery three-set battle against Bianca Andreescu in the third round of the ongoing Wimbledon. After winning the tough match, she made everyone laugh once again in the post-game interview with her witty answers to the questions.
The nerve-racking match made Annabel Croft ask Jabeur about her husband Karim Kamoun‘s nerves during the match. The Tunisian responded saying, “I’m sleeping on the couch tonight, I think. I looked at him during the game and I think he wasn’t very happy with it, so let’s see.” Jabeur joked that her husband won’t let her sleep on the bed after a match like this. She said that she would have to make do with the couch available. Apart from the jokes, what matters for Jabeur is that she has made the perfect start to the Championships in the quest for her third title.
The tough contest saw Andreescu take the first set 6-3. However, Jabeur, who was staring down at getting knocked out, held her nerve to bounce back and level the match 3-6 6-3. The final set was again tight and finally, a break of serve was enough to make the difference 6-4 in Jabeur’s favor.
Jabeur almost asks Billie Jean King for help

The third-round match between Ons Jabeur and Bianca Andreescu was a highly intense match. In her on-court interview after the match, Jabeur was asked how she dealt with the first set loss to turn things around. The Tunisian said, “Yea her [Andreescu] drop shots and slices were very annoying. I now understand how other players feel when I play them.” She further on added, “Billie is sitting and watching us. I was going to ask her what should I do.”
She also, in the end, requested Billie Jean King to give her some time of hers to talk. Billie was all smiles when Jabeur mentioned her. She certainly approved of the Tunisian’s tennis. The Championships move into the second week. Jabeur has an altogether new challenge in the form of 9th seed Petra Kvitova. It won’t be easy, but one should back Jabeur to extend her run and aim for the crown.
