Ons Jabeur is one of the favorites to win the Australian Open 2023 ladies singles title. Her performances in recent times are also evident of her resounding success in the WTA and Grand Slam tournaments. She played in the finals of both the 2022 Wimbledon and the US Open. However, she could not win the Championship matches of either of the tournaments.

Elena Rybakina defeated her in the final of Wimbledon 2022 and Iga Swiatek in the US Open. She could not play in the Australian Open 2022, citing injury reasons. She started the 2023 season by participating in the 2023 Adelaide International 1 tournament to prepare well for the first Grand Slam of the season. She played in the semi-final match against Linda Noskova but could not beat her.

At the Australian Open 2023, she is looking to make her mark and win her career’s maiden Grand Slam title. This is the first step in her path to triumph in Down Under. The winner of the encounter between Alison Riske-Amritraj and Marketa Vondrousova will play against Ons Jabeur in the second round. Meanwhile, all players in the Top 10 of the current WTA rankings have won their first round encounters to advance into the second-round.
