She said she was in awe of Jabeur’s performance against the hard hitter Belarusian and the way she dealt with her opponent’s power shots. Schett also claimed that Jabeur moved into positive thinking and this is what got her to overcome Aryna and she now has another shot at lifting the winner’s title. Ons Jabeur is getting another chance at lifting the title after losing it to Elena Rybakina last year. She’s been having a strong run at Wimbledon, knocking off some of the best players to reach the finals and dropping three sets on the way to the finals. She beat Zhuoxuan Bai in the second round, and Bianca Andreescu in the third round where she dropped her first set.

The Tunisian finished clean against Petra Kvitova in straight sets. She came out strong as she took out the defending champion Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals where she dropped her second set. Ons came out blazing after being a set and 2-4 down in the semis against Aryna to make it to the finals.

Ons Jabeur will now face off against Marketa Vondrousova in her second chance to pick the winner’s title at Wimbledon after losing to Elena Rybakina. Marketa showed incredible tennis skills and created history by playing the longest tiebreak in the history of the women’s era.

Both these players have faced off each other six times. They split the head-to-head equally at 3-3. The two players faced off against each other twice this season and Marketa won both of the matches.

Nevertheless, Ons is on the brink of scripting history as she will be the first Arab woman to potentially win the title. Although Marketa is playing incredible tennis, Ons’ mental strength and grit to win the title this year will make it difficult for the unseeded to overcome the Tunisian ‘Trailblazer’.
