Women’s Singles Draw Preview
Top Half
US Open champion Iga Swiatek will headline the top half of the draw and gets a first-round bye along with the other top 4 seeds. She will open her campaign against either a qualifier or Shuai Zhang and is drawn opposite 7th seeded Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia who will face Karolina Muchova in the opening round. She will be up against a qualifier in the second round.
Defending champion and third seed Anett Kontaveit will take on the winner of the match between Jil Teichmann and Tereza Martincova in the Round of 16. 5th seed Daria Kasatkina will face 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu in a blockbuster opening round clash and the winner will take on either 2-time major champion Victoria Azarenka or Korea Open champion Ekaterina Alexandrova.
1st Semifinal Prediction: Iga Swiatek vs Anett Kontaveit
Bottom Half
Second seed Paula Badosa will headline the bottom half of the draw and will face either a qualifier or Petra Kvitova in her opening match- the Round of 16 of the tournament. 8th seed Jelena Ostapenko will be up against Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the first round and will then face either Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina or Madison Keys in the second round.
4th seed Maria Sakkari will open her campaign against either former World No.1 Karolina Pliskova or a qualifier. Olympic champion Belinda Bencic will face a qualifier in the opening round and will then face the winner of the match between former French Open champion Barbora Krejcikova and Shelby Rogers.
2nd Semifinal Prediction: Barbora Krejcikova vs Jelena Ostapenko
Semifinals
Two of the best players on the WTA tour, Iga Swiatek and Anett Kontaveit will meet in the first semifinal. Swiatek has been the best player this season by a mile and will look to continue her unbeaten streak. Kontaveit has also found form in the last few weeks and will look to upset Swiatek.
Barbora Krejcikova will lock horns against Jelena Ostapenko in the second semifinal. Both Krejcikova and Ostapenko are amazing defensive players and thrive well on clay courts. But both have proved that they can do well on hard courts too.

Final
In the final of the 2022 Ostrava Open, Iga Swiatek will face Barbora Krejcikova. Swiatek will enter as the overwhelming favorite to win the match but Krejcikova has found her long-lost form in the last few weeks. The Pole will rely on her aggressive game style but Krejcikova’s defensive masterclass can’t be ignored. Expect a good match with Switek winning the 8th title of her career.
