The Greek tennis player appeared to be in good form when he defeated German Alexander Zverev in the third-round match in straight sets. While the first set went on to a tie-breaker, the World No. 6 managed to win both sets. This extraordinary win solidified Tsitsipas’ spot at the 2023 ATP Finals. However, barring this achievement, Tsitsipas has had quite a dull season.

The Russian on the other hand, has had a very consistent season. Though not consisting of big hits, his season has been quite average with no unnecessary surprises. His most recent success was at the Zhuhai Championships, where he defeated Yoshihito Nishioka. He made it to the quarter-final of the Vienna Open, where he was defeated by defending champion Daniil Medvedev, who would later go on to make it to the finals. He also made it to the semi-final of the Australian Open, his best-ever finish at a Grand Slam. He is also the holder of an Olympic silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where he was defeated in the final by Alexander Zverev.

The former World No. 3 has proven to be in good form at Paris. On his way to the quarter-final, he beat some of the best players like Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alexander Zverev in the second and third rounds. His best performance this year was at the Australian Open, where he made it to the final. Unfortunately, he was defeated by Novak Djokovic, who claimed his 22nd Grand Slam title. Nevertheless, the Greek is in good enough form to make an impactful performance in the quarter-final.

Karen Khachanov on the other hand has had a good season himself. He holds his only Masters 1000 title at the very location he is about to play Tsitsipas. While his journey to the quarter-final has not been as impressive as that of his opponent, he has still played a few tough matches. He defeated the likes of Roman Safiullin and Laslo Djere to cement his position at the quarter-final. However, with the 6-1 head-to-head record with the Greek leading, it seems more than likely that it will be Tsitsipas who will win the match and make it to the semi-final.
