One of the most accomplished tennis coaches of all time Patrick Mouratoglou remains confident about the ability of Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas to win some Major titles in the coming years. He believes that Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal have not made it easy for the younger generation but the time will change.
The Russian star Medvedev managed to clinch the 2021 US Open title despite the consistent dominance of Nadal and Djokovic on the tour. Tsitsipas on the other hand has also made some progress. The Greek just finished the runner-up in the Australian Open and earlier too, he made it to the 2021 French Open final.
Mouratoglou was responding to a tweet about how the younger generation is still under the shadow of the Spanish and Serbian icons. The French coach believes the time will change sooner than later as Medvedev and Tsitsipas have made some headways.
“It is the hardest time to win a Grand Slam but @DaniilMedwed has won one and @steftsitsipas made two finals and several semis of GS and I am 100% sure he will find a way,” Mouratoglou, who coached Tsitsipas between 2018 and 2021, wrote on Twitter.

Mouratoglou believes Novak Djokovic’s celebration after the Australian Open title says it all

Mouratoglou has been one of the most successful tennis coaches ever. In his career, he has taken some great names under his wings. American icon Serena Williams is his most celebrated student. Currently, he is working with Danish player Holger Rune and he has also coached Romanian Simona Halep.
The 52-year-old was caught by the celebration of the Serbian legend Novak Djokovic after his record-extending 10th title in the 2023 Australian Open. After the win, Djokovic climbed to his team and family and let it all out. Mouratoglou believes that celebration says it all.
“Before the Australian swing, the biggest challenge for Novak was to deal with emotions coming back a year after the drama and perform in that environment. His meltdown after the win in the final spoke loudly. Challenge completed,” Mouratoglou wrote on Twitter.
