“I want to see her play good tennis,” Patrick Mouratoglou gives his take on Serena Williams coming out of retirement
Patrick Mouratoglou discusses the legacy of Serena Williams and how he expects her to play if she is making a comeback.

Patrick Mouratoglou and Serena Williams
Patrick mouratoglou, the former coach of retired tennis player Serena Williams has his say on how retirement life will look like for the American legend. As a person who has known her for a long time being the coach for the later stages of her career, the French coach’s opinions have weight. He also reflected that her career wouldn’t be remembered based on how things just went toward the end of the career. The recency bias will not be effective in the long term and her overall legacy.
As quoted by him, “Do I want to see her play? I want to see her play again. Yes, yes, if she enjoys herself on the court. For that, she has to feel strong. If she doesn’t feel strong, she won’t enjoy herself. I want to see her play good tennis. If she can play good tennis, of course, I want to see her play. Everyone wants to see her play“
Continuing the train of thoughts, “I think to be exceptional at something, and God knows she’s been exceptional, you have to be a little bit obsessive about it. You have to be 100% focused on the activity, otherwise, even for tennis geniuses, it’s complicated.”
He also believes that as a person having multiple interests, Serena will still be leading a happy retirement life, “I think if she’s happy at the end of her career, that’s all that matters because nobody will remember the end of her career. You remember it now because it’s fresh, but everyone will remember what a champion she was, all the Grand Slams she won, the things she brought to tennis, and how she made history. The end of her career is an anecdote.” (Source : Eurosport)
Serena Williams – Arguably the ‘Greatest of All Time’

Serena Williams is one of the most successful tennis players and probably the greatest female tennis player that ever played this game. She won all the Grand Slams many times over in her career. She also won the Grand Slam Cup (now discontinued) in 1999, WTA Finals 5 times, and the 2012 London Olympics gold medal in the women’s singles event.
Her rivalry with her sister Venus Williams was the biggest crowd-puller in the early 2000s, with viewers chiming in for the ultimate clash. In doubles, the William sisters dominated by winning all the Grand Slams and three Olympic gold medals.
The sisters turned back the clock in the 2017 Australian Open final when they both faced off in a Grand Slam final for the first time after Venus’ triumph in Wimbledon in 2008. They both have played against each other 31 times and Serena leads the head 2 head 19-12.
The 41-year-old got married to Alexis Ohanian in 2017 and they have a daughter together. The ceremony took place in New Orleans in 2017 and their french ball-themed wedding was the talk of the town.
