Roger Federer’s former coach, Paul Annacone, said in a recent interview that the Swiss international’s wife, Mirka Federer, had a great role to play in his career. He said that Mirka does not get enough credit for how she supported Federer throughout his career.
Paul Annacone said that Roger Federer always had many great guys on his team. Tony Godsick, Severin Luthi, and Pierre Paganini were all vital cogs in his team, without whom it would not have been possible for the Swiss to attain such great heights in his career.

Downplaying his own credit, Annacone said that he was just a small part of a very well-oiled machine that led to Roger’s success, and Mirka contributed to it as well. He said that she had a great understanding of tennis, having been a former player herself.

Paul Annacone coached Roger Federer from 2010 to 2013. During this period, Federer won the 2012 Wimbledon and two ATP Finals in 2010 and 2011 consecutively. Roger Federer finally retired from the 2022 Laver Cup as a legend of the sport.

Mirka Federer opens up about her support for Roger Federer
Back in 2004, when Roger Federer had just won Wimbledon and was still on the rise, Mirka Federer said in an interview that when Roger won, it felt like she was winning as well. Mirka was herself a tennis player and had a career-high ranking of World No. 214.

When Roger wins, it’s as if I were winning too. I feel it so intensely & I know what it means. He shares everything with me. On some level, Roger gives me back my tennis life.
