The 33-year-old Petra Kvitova has dismantled unseeded Russian Anna Blinkova in the first round of the Cincinnati Open. The final score was 7-6 (7-4), 6-0. Though the Russian fought really hard in the first set, Kvitova proved to be too strong for the Russian in the second set as she ruthlessly played brilliant strokes all over the ground to bagel her.

With the two titles won this year, Kvitova looked strong in Wimbledon also this year. The 2011 and 2014 champion finally fell to Ons Jabeur in the pre-quarterfinals. Currently looking to get back on track in the Cincinnati Open after losing in the second round of the Canadian Open, Kvitova will be working hard to better her performances in Flushing Meadows.

The Czech professional’s best record in the US Open is a fourth-round appearance. Currently being a top-10 player and having the needed experience to shine in crucial situations, Kvitova is all set to be a force all over again.
