The American World No.6 Coco Gauff, who is just one match away from her maiden Grand Slam title, has backed herself to win it in her post-press conference of the US Open semi-finals. The American star had an easy outing in the semi-finals when she got over the Czech World No.10 Karolina Muchova. The final score read as 6-4, 7-5 as the Czech failed to play her best in the showdown.
Gauff was seen analyzing her chances, and how she wanted to win her maiden Grand Slam. In her words, “I really believe that now I have the maturity and ability to do it, I grew up watching this tournament so much, so it means a lot to be in the final. A lot to celebrate, but you know the job is not done, so hopefully [the fans] can back me on Saturday.”
Gauff added on how she felt to be back on the courts after not doing much in Wimbledon, “After Wimbledon, I wasn’t expecting to do well, honestly. Regardless of what happens [in the final], I’m really proud of how I have been handling the last few weeks.” (Credits: Sky sports)
Coco Gauff talks about the protestors amidst her match

The American 19-year-old Coco Gauff showed enough maturity in her post-match press conference as she touched upon the controversial topic of protestors that stopped her semi-final match creating a hectic situation on the center court. She said that she knows the importance of climatic changes and how they affect the future for one and all.
As she said about the climatic changes, “I believe in climate change. I don’t know exactly what they were protesting. I 100% believe there are things we could do better. Would I prefer it not to happen in my match? 100%. It is what it is.“ She added, “Moments like this are history-defining moments. I wasn’t pissed at the protesters. I always speak about preaching what you believe in. It was done in a peaceful way. I can’t get too mad at it.. if that’s what they felt they needed to do to get their voices heard I can’t really get upset at it.“
Coco Gauff will try to win her first Grand Slam title in front of her home crowd in an atmosphere that is going to be electric and back her up to fight through the crucial moments. The tennis world is waiting for a final clash with Aryna Sabalenka, which is expected to be a close match.
