A lot of people are against the Wimbledon ban which is causing a major controversy and there are even talks of boycotting the Wimbledon altogether. The most recent person from the world of tennis who opposes the decision is Frenchman Patrick Mouratoglou, coach of Simona Halep.
With the LTA and Wimbledon deciding to not allow Belarusian and Russian athletes for all Grass court events including the Tour events conducted by ATP and WTA, Mouratoglou has come forward and said that he is not with the rule that the Wimbledon has put up as he asks them to consider not just the Ukrainians but also the Russians.

The former coach of Serena Williams is asking the association not just to think about the Ukrainians but he says that even the Russian and Belarusian players’ families are going through the same thing. Mouratoglou expressed his thoughts speaking with Tennis Majors and put up some good points.
“Banning Russian players from playing at Wimbledon is a very shocking decision for me. Leave the politics to the politicians. Of course, there is a war. Everyone is against the war, including players from Russia and Belarus. I understand the position of the Ukrainian players because there is war in their country, they have friends, and family, who have been killed or who fear being killed tomorrow. I understand that they want very strong points from Russian and Belarusian players,” stated Patrick.
He adds that “Now, if you’re in their place, Russians and Belarusians, they have their families living in Russia and by saying something like that, like condemning the government, they’re potentially putting their own family at risk. So, I think Russian players and Belarusian players have already said enough, that’s a lot!
“They say publicly that they are against the war, in a way they say publicly that they are against the decisions of the government. They don’t literally say it, but they say it. So I think that’s the most they can do without taking any risks, too much risk for their own families,” concluded Mouratoglou.
