Just as his forehands would make the crowd go wild in excitement, any social media post that has him in it is no short of an occasion for the massive fan base he holds. Rafael Nadal may be out of action since January this year but his social media has been very talkative.
The fans have been overjoyed seeing their star enjoy small things in life even during such trying times for him. As Nadal is in the race to recover fully before the 2023 Roland Garros, he spent some time with his family. In an Instagram story shared by his sister Maria Isabel, he was seen celebrating his grandma’s 92nd birthday with family.
This is not the first time the 22-time Grand Slam champion was seen sharing wholesome moments with his family members.. He is a firm believer of spending quality time with family. Last year he had surprised his grandfather by sending him virtual birthday wishes over a call. It was one of those moments that got the whole tennis world looking at their favorite star in awe once more.
In the picture that came out from his grandma’s celebrations, the whole family can be seen posing for a family photo around a dining table. A fruit cake having a variety of fruits like strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries accompanied by a few drinks can be seen in front of the birthday girl. As Nadal enjoys this moment he will also be praying and working towards a speedy recovery for by far his favorite tournament.
“If Rafael Nadal plays, he is still French Open favorite”- Tsonga on Nadal’s chances at the RG23
Like many others, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga believes that Rafael Nadal still has the magic left in him. In his opinion, if Nadal somehow makes it to Paris he has enough quality to put up a spectacular show in front of everyone. As the situation seems to be currently, Nadal’s Italian Open participation is also in doubt as he going through an ongoing recovery process. Despite all that being termed as the French Open favorite speaks a lot about the class of the 22-time Grand Slam winner.
“I admit that Alcaraz is still playing very, very well. And then we have to see if Rafa will be there or not. Because for me, the favorite is Alcaraz if Nadal is not present. If Rafa is there, I still want to say that he will be the favorite.” said the Frenchman when asked about who has the best chance to lift the trophy on the dirt. Clearly, a majority is in favor of the Spaniard making it to Paris and once again doing a miracle at an event where he has been so successful previously.
