Rafael Nadal racing against time to get fit before 2024 Australian Open
While Rafael Nadal might have found a new way to love the road, the Spaniard is struggling to find ways to get back to his first love i.e. tennis. The 37-year-old has been out of the tour since the 2023 Australian Open where he crashed out after losing in the second round. Nadal underwent surgery on his hip post that.
Nadal is now racing against the time to get match-fit before the start of the 2024 Australian Open. Although the Spaniard has clarified that he has not set a timeframe for his comeback, the pressure is mounting on Nadal with his fans anticipating a return at the start of the next season. Also, with the Australian Open CEO Craig Tiley confirming that Nadal will play at the year’s first Grand Slam, the anticipation is higher than before.
Rafael Nadal fans are expecting a repeat of 2022 from the Spaniard ace where he won the Australian Open on his return to action after an elongated break. Nadal also went on to win the French Open in the same year and take his tally of Grand Slam titles to 2022. Now, his fans will expect a similar feat from the 37-year-old and expect him to close the gap between him and Novak Djokovic.
