The Rafael Nadal Academy is without a doubt one of the best places imaginable for sports fans across the globe. It showcases all the trophies that he has won throughout his career and also consists of other souvenirs that have been donated to the museum by other famous athletes. Recently, there was another special addition to Rafael Nadal’s collection when a World Champion visited the museum.

Cata Coll, the goalkeeper of the Spanish women’s soccer team that won the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, paid a small visit to the Rafael Nadal Museum recently. She had a tour of the museum with her parents and some of her friends. Nadal made sure to take time off his practice to meet the 22-year-old. The youngster gave Nadal a signed jersey and gloves that she wore to the World Cup.

This was indeed a special moment for Cata Coll, as before becoming a soccer player, she played tennis at the junior level. In fact, she was pretty good at it. She won the Mallorca Alevín Championship (3rd category) and also the Babolat Cup. Thus, Coll obviously had Rafael Nadal as one of her idols growing up. She played tennis and soccer simultaneously and later decided to pursue a soccer career.

Coll is one of the vital cogs in the Spanish national team and her club, Barca Femeni. In fact, she was one of the most important players on Spain’s World Cup-winning team. She has now become the second female player to find a place in the Rafael Nadal Museum. Before her, it was Maria Sharapova who donated a part of her tennis career to the Rafael Nadal Museum.

Nadal has already put the jersey on display at his museum and he announced the same through a tweet from Rafael Nadal Academy’s account.

Nadal has always been a big fan of soccer. He is a die-hard Real Madrid fan and has been rumored to take up the role of president of Real Madrid several times. In that way, he is actually a nemesis of Lionel Messi. However, he rates the Argentine legend very highly and has always appreciated his greatness.
