Rafael Nadal has recently posted a video of one of his practice sessions on his Instagram account in the form of a reel and fans are going bonkers about it. The Spaniard looks to be in good form from what could be seen in the reel video. Nadal seems to be much more confident playing his signature forehand and backhand shots, at least compared to what he displayed in the Brisbane International.
Nadal is set to make a comeback at the 2024 Indian Wells, a tournament that he has won three times in his career. The last time he won the Indian Wells was back in 2013. He tried to make a return in the 2023 Indian Wells but unfortunately, the hip injury that he suffered in the 2023 Australian Open did not allow him to play in that entire year.

The Spaniard suffered a hip flexor injury and had to undergo surgery. He took a really long time to recover and had to thus sit out the entire season. He finally made his much-awaited comeback in the 2024 Brisbane International, but even that was short-lived as the 22-time Grand Slam champion suffered another muscle issue during his quarter-final match against Jordan Thompson, which he lost in three sets.
As a result, he had to opt out of the Australian Open as well. He then said that he would make his return at the Doha Open, but unfortunately, the 37-year-old doesn’t want to risk anything playing in an ATP 250 event. He instead promised that he would surely take part in the Indian Wells.
Rafael Nadal reveals his main priority right now is the Clay season
Nadal is called the king of clay for a reason. His record at the French Open is unmatched. He is 113-3 in the Grand Slam and has won it a total of 14 times. Nadal thus wants to give his best in the 2024 French Open because that is where his chances of actually winning something are the highest.

If there's no issues before then, I'm going to travel there. My priority goal, which is what I said from the beginning, is to reach the clay season at least as healthy as possible. I want to try to give me the option of enjoying that clay season.Nadal in his interview for El Objective
He is almost certain that he will take part in the Indian Wells. However, if that somehow comes in the way of his preparations for the clay season, Rafael Nadal might also opt out of the ATP 1000.
Editor’s Note: In the previous version of the article, it was wrongly claimed that Rafa won the Indian Wells in 2022, which has been corrected.
