Will he or won’t he? This is the biggest question worrying Rafael Nadal‘s fans everywhere around the globe about his participation in the French Open. They are desperate to see their favorite player lift at least one more Roland Garros trophy. After prolonged speculations going on the last two months, hopefully the air will get cleared soon. Rafael Nadal is set to take one final Physical on 5th May. This medical test will give the player green or red light to go ahead with his participation in Roland Garros.

Though this test is ahead of the Rome ATP Masters, Rafael Nadal‘s ultimate goal is to get a confirmation for the Roland Garros. Nadal has continuously been training hard in the last few weeks. Fans are waiting with bated breath to know the outcome of this medical test. If in the clear the 22 times Grand Slam winner will also play at the Rome Open.

Rafael Nadal has been on a long road to recovery since he got a hip injury at the 2023 Australian Open. Nadal exited from Australian Open in the second round itself. Since then, his return to court has been delayed week after week. The season changes from hard court to clay, but Rafael Nadal was unable to make a return.

Various stakeholders around Rafael Nadal issued statements on his return and also on his possible retirement. Nadal’s uncle, Toni Nadal, had however confirmed the Spaniard for the French Open. He had also gone on to say that the ex-world no.1’s retirement is not in cards. Whereas Nadal’s coach Carlos Moya had expressed his doubts on the players’ fitness at various occasions.

Though Moya said Nadal will probably compete, his fitness might not be ideal. Recently ex world no. 1 Patrick McEnroe also commented that Rafael Nadal’s chances to play at Roland Garros looked feeble.

All these speculations from all corners have kept fans on their toes. Though Rafael Nadal has been in everyone’s thought, he has been away from media attention. Training and practicing hard. He was also recently seen in an intimate picture celebrating his grandmother’s birthday surrounded by family.
