Spanish tennis ace Rafael Nadal is ready to make his comeback as the 37-year-old touched down in Brisbane on Thursday, a day before the tournament officially kicks off. The 22-time Grand Slam champion who is returning to action after almost a year landed at the Brisbane airport and was welcomed with a lot of warmth.
Nadal then entered the arena with all cameras pointed at him. The 37-year-old nonchalantly walked with his kit bag hanging on his shoulders. Nadal also acknowledged the people eagerly waiting to catch his glimpse.

The pictures and videos of Nadal landing at the airport and then entering the arena were shared on Brisbane International’s social media handles. Nadal himself announced his arrival in Brisbane as he waved to the citizens on social media.

Rafael Nadal gets straight to business
After landing in Brisbane, Rafael Nadal did not waste any time as he picked up his racket and headed straight to the practice court at the Queensland Tennis Centre. Nadal practiced on Show Court Two on Thursday afternoon.

After spending some time on the court, Nadal got into an intense practice session with Holger Rune. The Danish ace joked about not even getting time to feel jetlagged.
Meanwhile, Nadal said that he is excited to make a comeback at Brisbane after a long time.

Notably, the 22-time Grand Slam champion’s last appearance in Brisbane was in 2017, when he progressed to the quarter-finals. Talking about the kickoff, the main draw action at the Brisbane International begins on 31 December.
