Comparisons are often said to be unnecessary. However, there are a few exceptions to the comparisons that really make complete sense. Spanish pro Carlos Moya made a legendary comparison a few years ago between Spanish Legend Rafael Nadal and Barcelona great Lionel Messi. This comparison was loved by all sports fans.
It was during the Davis Cup encounter in 2018 between Spain and Germany. Nadal was returning from a break and was the best player in the world. Moya was so confident in the Spaniard’s skills that he gave this statement confidently. “You almost have the guarantee that he will win his two singles (matches), which helps his teammates to be free. I would compare it with (Leo) Messi in Barcelona.”
The two greats were compared by Moya, and he clearly said that one is super confident in their skills. He called both players Trump cards that guarantee wins. For Spain in that Davis Cup, this is exactly what happened. Nadal gave them those crucial wins and boosted their chances. Moya has been a long-term coach for Rafael Nadal, and both Spaniards share a great relationship.
