Spanish great Rafael Nadal is a bit active on his social media platforms these days. As the 22-time Grand Slam champion is trying to recover from a hip injury, Nadal has recently welcomed the NFL legend Tom Brady to the E1 World Championship. Apart from these superstars, soccer icon Didier Drogba and Formula One star Sergio Perez are also owners of teams in the E1 world championship.
Nadal has posted an Instagram story on his timeline welcoming football legend Tom Brady, which was shared by the official handle of the E1 series. For the uninitiated, the E1 series is an upcoming boat race that is intended to accelerate sustainable technologies, and the boats for racing will be only electrical. The owners of this event are Alejandro Agag and Rodi Basso. This is also the first electric boat race approved by Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM).
With the involvement of Brady, the E1 series is expected to make huge investments from the North American crowd as well. Already the face of a tournament that will be the future of races, the E1 series will continue to make big headlines in the coming days.
Rafael Nadal has officially withdrawn from the US Open 2023
As expected, Rafael Nadal’s name is not included in the entry list for this year’s US Open. The legend had already said that he will skip the clay court swing and most probably the entire year, as he is still healing from the hip injury sustained during the Australian Open second-round clash.
Being the most successful player in the Flushing meadows in the last decade and being able to win the titles four times, Nadal has now withdrawn from 3 of the 4 editions post his epic US Open title in 2019 where he beat Daniil Medvedev in one of the greatest matches of the tournament in 5 sets. The injury-hit career of ‘the Matador’ is expected to return to his second-best Grand Slam next year.
With Nadal’s withdrawal officially, this year’s US Open will be looking forward to seeing the new rivalry in the town- Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic. With Daniil Medvedev and young guns like Jannik Sinner and Holger Rune also playing, the US Open is expected to be a tight tournament in all senses.
