Rafael Nadal’s former coach passes away due to a tragic heart condition

Eduardo Mena, a well-known fitness trainer, and former footballer died at the age of 56. He had worked with many famous sportspeople including the likes of legendary footballers such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Sergio Ramos, and Robert Carlos. Prior to becoming a coach, Mena played football for La Balona’s local team in Segunda División B for two seasons. Later on in his football career, he played for Sevilla Atlético, Plasencia, and Poli Ejido.

He opened his own gym and became a fitness trainer for many celebrities. In addition to working mostly with footballers, he also acted as a fitness trainer for Rafael Nadal. Mena had problems with his heart aorta, and he had to go through two surgeries on Wednesday, but despite the best efforts from the doctors trying to save his life, Mena passed away.

Condolences pour in for Rafael Nadal’s former fitness trainer.

Mena tried out designing fitness and diet regimes for the athletes and it worked well so he continued to work as a celebrity fitness trainer. According to Sportal, Mena had an elite clientele including the legends of the football world and tennis great Rafa Nadal himself. He also worked with several high-profile Spanish celebrities including bullfighter Juan José Padilla. It’s a tragic loss as the great fitness trainer breathed his last on Wednesday.
Many of Spain’s high-profile people have expressed their sorrows and shared their condolences for Mena. David Bisbal, a renowned Spanish singer, songwriter wrote in his Instagram story: “Today is a day that you do not feel like doing anything because your heart dawns with an important part less”
